First of all we’d love to set the record straight – good skin care does not have to be complex or overly expensive. We love watching a 20-step skincare routine just as much as the next beauty obsessed girl. However to do that yourself, you will probably break the bank buying all the products and stick to the routine for a week… max. Don’t waste your time!
Now we know that one size does not fit all when it comes down to skincare, but there are a few points that every complexion will benefit from, which we have summarised for you below!
If you’ve heard it once, you’ve heard it a million times – WATER! Your body is 60% water and this magic ingredient needs to be replenished constantly because you are losing it constantly. Water flushes the toxins out of your body which otherwise would contribute to your skin complaints. So healthy skin in 2019 requires a minimum of 2 litres a day please – try to keep a bottle of water with you at all times as a visual reminder to take a sip!
Remove your make-up – no excuses! No matter how tired you are, how inviting your bed looks, do not go to sleep with your make-up on. You will regret it in the morning when you wake up with clogged pores and the beginnings of a painful spot in the middle of your face. It doesn’t need to be a mammoth task, using our Make-up Removing Cloths, all you need is warm water and this soft micro fibre towel will gently remove all traces of old make-up from your face. So you can get into bed as quickly as possible!
Cleanse GENTLY. Do not brush the top layer of skin off your face! Exfoliating, when done incorrectly can cause a whole host of issues. That is why we designed our Buff and Cleanse Brush with silicone bristles so you can exfoliate effectively without damaging the skin. Exfoliate first and then work the cleanser into your face before rinsing with warm water.
Moisturising is always tricky because everyone’s skin will prefer something different. So we won’t preach to you about a Holy Grail product! Rather we are saying that regardless of your skin type it is important to always moisturise after cleansing your face (Yes, even you ladies with oily skin). There are a host of moisturisers made for each skin type so don’t give up thinking that there isn’t one suited to your needs – get researching and enjoy the process!
Last but not least, learn to kick back and relax every now and then. A lot of our skin issues tend to be related to the stress that we carry around with us. You could be carrying out the 11 step coveted Korean skin care routine and not be seeing any results if you’re head is in a mess 24/7. So make time to sit back with a cup of tea and a face mask and we promise, your skin will thank you for it!
